Loving Reclaimed Barn Wood Tiles!

Mission Stone Tile

I was searching for the latest ideas for fireplace tile surrounds and accidentally fell upon the trendy wood tile! I have seen wood tiles before but not small reclaimed tiles that look fabulous up a wall or on a backsplash. I love the idea of doing a rustic butlers pantry in them or maybe a cool ceiling, the sky is the limit. What do you think of these cool new options for eco tiles?

Tribal Influence For Fall-BCBGMAXAZRIA

Although I am not ready to give up on Summer, I do enjoy viewing the latest apparel and trends for Fall.  This year BCBG has definitely paired up with the Interior trend of Tribal and have put together a very eclectic mix of pieces that could influence an interior space.  I love warm or sharp ethnic inspired rooms and I really like this line of Fall apparel from BCBG, now I wish they would design some fabric for us to use at home! Those graphic choices and colors are great!  I picked some rooms and accessories that any of BCBG's outfits could pair with! What is your favorite trend for this Fall? Let me know

End Of Summer- It's The Pits!

Fire Pits that is!  I am starting to feel that coolness in the air as the sun goes down, it's letting me know that Fall is on it's way.  This is the time for fabulous fire pits, a warm wrap and roasting marshmallows.
I found some truly amazing fire pits on Fire Pit Gallery! These would make any bonfire party an instant success!  Check these out and a little yummy recipe at end of post!

A Warm and Welcoming Beach House!

Well, what better way to end the summer than with a tour of a warm and welcoming beach house! My dear friends were luck to survive the wrath of Sandy on LBI, New Jersey.  Wendy and Rich have a lovely warm and well collected beach home. We were lucky to spend the past weekend with them and not only are they gracious hosts, they have done a wonderful job with their home!  No help from any designer, Wendy trusted her gut and love of found objects to decorate each space.  It's a mix of rustic and airy decor with some fun antiques stirred in.  The photos are from an Iphone so pardon the shadows, still I think you will agree this is a place to kick off your flip flops and just relax!

A Sneak Peak At The Upcoming Book- "Tom Scheerer Decorates"!

Is it possible that I found my new favorite designer and design mentor? Yes it is!  I have always loved the work by the former duo Tom Scheerer and Jeffrey Bilhuber. However, this new book by Tom truly takes the cake!  Tom's publicist Meghan Phillips was kind enough to share several images from the upcoming book "Tom Scheerer Decorates", which is due out in September.  Just this little glimpse of some of the images available in Tom's book will leave you wanting more!
For those who may not be familiar with Tom Scheerer he has been practicing Architectural and Interior design since 1985.  Tom graduated from The Cooper Union School with a degree in Architecture, which is quite evident in all of his work.  He went on to join Jeffrey Bilhuber and the duo was an instant success, gracing the pages of the top magazines such as Elle Decor, House Beautiful etc. In 1995 Tom went on to establish his own firm  Tom Scheerer Incorporated, and again was featured time and again in the top design publications.  For the last 10years Tom has created homes on Harbour Island in the Bahamas, where he has tried to retain the historic and architectural integrity of each property that he has restored.
Finally, Tom has worked with Mimi Read on his new book "Tom Scheerer Decorates" and I think it's a must have for designers and those who appreciate fine interior design! Enjoy and get your order in now!
